AMBASSADORS OF HOPE

SUPPORTING AND MOTIVATING OTHER YOUNG PEOPLE.

I know how important these programmes are and I try to give back by volunteering with organisations to speak and motivate young people, being a trained Action Learning Set facilitator and supporting youth group coaching and other opportunities that I know my younger self would have appreciated.

Shola, 24 – London

I finished University and I had no idea what I wanted to do. I enjoyed studying but it didn’t quite inspire me to know what I wanted to do with my life. I came across an opportunity organised by DTT, Hudl and Lysis Financial for young people to apply to work in the financial sector, no work experience or qualifications needed!

I went along and was intrigued enough to apply for an internship which I thankfully secured and after my internship I was offered a full time, permanent job and I am still there 3 years later.

I have always been involved in youth engagement programmes and picked up the skills and knowledge that is not readily available in school, college or university, which ultimately landed me the job that I hadn’t known existed! I know how important these programmes are and I try to give back by volunteering with organisations to speak and motivate young people, being a trained Action Learning Set facilitator and supporting youth group coaching and other opportunities that I know my younger self would have appreciated.
