New years honours youngest recipient

Thank you Damilola Taylor Trust and SOLA for my first ever award and for inspiring me to continue with my charity work.

I received my Spirit of London Award from the Damilola Taylor Trust in 2012 when I was 10 years old, I had been fundraising for The Bobby Moore Fund for CRUK in memory of my Nan for just over a year. Suddenly I was being interviewed for the main ITV news and then I was on the red carpet at the O2 Arena with the likes of Chase & Status, Mcfly and Diversity with 12,000 people in the arena

I have gone on to win a number of awards over the years and became the youngest ever to be honoured in The New Year’s Honours but the SOLA 2012 will always be very special to me as it was the first time I had received an award and recognition for my charity work.

I clearly remember the night listening to the amazing and inspirational stories of young people at the award ceremony, proof that young people really can change the world and that hope is real

Thank you Damilola Taylor Trust and SOLA for my first ever award and for inspiring me to continue with my charity work.
